Following the successful delivery of the Windibri Water Treatment Plant, Laing O'Rourke was contracted to deliver the Balance of Plant design, including mechanical, civil and structural, electrical, and engineering disciplines. Leveraging a combination of self-perform and subcontractor capabilities we also undertook the construction, installation, and pre-commissioning activities, with relevant procurement and management functions. Supporting infrastructure, including a gas-fired power island, pipelines, and storage ponds, also formed part of the project scope.

The modular water treatment plant (processing 92 megalitres per day) was designed to be transportable, giving the client the flexibility to relocate the plant should the processing of associated water in other isolated gas fields be required. The treated water is ultra-pure quality, suitable for river discharge, irrigation and other beneficial uses.
