DEXUS Property Group has announced its agreement with Laing O’Rourke to develop 100 Mount Street, North Sydney.

Laing O'Rourke Australia, the country's largest privately-owned engineering and construction company, will now design and construct a world-class, high-rise commercial tower on North Sydney's premiere site.

DEXUS CEO Darren Steinberg confirmed the deal to demolish two existing buildings (90 and 100 Mount Street) and deliver a DA-approved 41,163 square metre commercial tower.

Laing O'Rourke Managing Director Cathal O’Rourke welcomed the announcement.

“We are extremely pleased to have reached this important milestone and look forward to delivering a new standard for office accommodation in North Sydney,” Mr O'Rourke said.

“We have also signed on to be an anchor tenant in the new building, moving our Sydney headquarters there once the project is complete at the end of 2018."

Work on site for the 34-level premium office tower will start in April.

DEXUS and Laing O'Rourke previously partnered on the delivery of the 123 Albert Street commercial tower in Brisbane.
