Laing O’Rourke invests in new manufacturing capacity for the future
16.07.26Laing O’Rourke is expanding its manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for the Group’s industry leading approach to industrialised construction.
Crown House Technologies Manufacturing (CHtM) and Explore Manufacturing will both be expanded to support increased demand for their products.
CHtM is moving to a larger facility in Smethwick, West Midlands and Explore Manufacturing is expanding, adding 3,200 square metres of versatile manufacturing footprint at its current location in Explore Park, Nottinghamshire.
Laing O’Rourke’s financial discipline has injected resilience into the business. This has, combined with a third record order book in a row - £17.2bn - created the conditions to invest in expanding manufacturing facilities for the future.
The upgraded facilities will also allow exploration of and further investment in innovation in automation and digitisation to further modernise production processes.
This investment demonstrates significant commitment to the future of both CHtM and Explore Manufacturing.
Both expansions are due to be complete by Q1 of FY28.
