Suburban Rail Loop: Initial Works and Early Works
Melbourne, Victoria
At a glance

Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werrribee Line via Melbourne Airport, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. SRL will be delivered in stages over several decades.

SRL East is a new 26km twin-tunnel rail line with underground stations to be built at Cheltenham, Clayton, Monash, Glen Waverley, Burwood and Box Hill. A stabling facility will be located at Heatherton and supporting infrastructure at Mount Waverley and Burwood.

Laing O’Rourke has been awarded the Initial and Early Works package for SRL East. Working across seven locations, we are undertaking utility relocations, demolitions, site establishments and excavating tunnel access shafts in preparation for the main works contractors.
