Laing O’Rourke has partnered with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) to launch the 2018 NSW NAWIC Mentoring Program, connecting and empowering women in construction.

The mentoring program enables women who have recently entered the industry to connect with well-matched mentors based on age, experience and goals.

Laing O’Rourke’s Region Director Mark Dimmock is a strong supporter of workplace equality and diversity within Laing O’Rourke.

“Laing O’Rourke is a long-time member of NAWIC, illustrating our commitment to being an equal opportunities employer and employing a workforce that reflects the diverse society in which we live and work.

“Initiatives such as the NAWIC Mentoring Program are a critical step in attracting and supporting the growth of women in construction, and we are extremely proud to be this years’ sponsor.”

Sarah Hogan, President of NAWIC NSW, shared her excitement towards Laing O’Rourke’s continued relationship with NAWIC.

“We are delighted that Laing O'Rourke has decided to sponsor this program in 2018.

“NAWIC's Mentoring Program seeks to extend women’s networks and provide them with a point of contact in the construction industry from whom they may gain advice or discuss industry and work-related issues. It's a two-way interaction that benefits both mentees and mentors”

Laing O’Rourke’s support for the program is a reflection of the business’ commitment to advancing gender equality and equipping all employees to reach their potential within the construction industry.

The program is supplemented by events that enable participants to build their networks, learn from one another and develop skills at facilitated workshops. Mentors and mentees are provided the opportunity to expand their coaching, leadership and mentorship skills.
