Health and wellbeing leader crowned at construction news talent awards

Silvana Martin, was announced as the deserving winner of the Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year at the 2018 Construction News Talent Awards.

In a prestigious ceremony held in London on Wednesday 21 November, organisations from across the construction industry were honoured across 15 categories in a night of recognition.

Following a rigorous judging process conducted by HR and talent experts from inside and outside the industry, Silvana emerged as the winner of the Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year. The judges recognised that Silvana’s personal commitment has driven a range of initiatives across Laing O'Rourke and described her as “a great ambassador for the industry and preceptors of health and wellbeing.”

The awards celebrate the people striving to make construction a more inclusive industry, as well as the businesses doing outstanding work to improve the construction industry’s reputation and employment practices.

Another of Laing O'Rourke’s employees, crane driver Katie Kelleher was shortlisted as a finalist in the Inspire Me category.
