The package, valued at approximately $200 million will see Laing O’Rourke deliver the Miscellaneous Civil Finishing Works at Bladin Point.

The Ichthys LNG Project is ranked among the most significant oil and gas projects in the world.

Laing O’Rourke’s Region Director Stuart Crofts welcomed the announcement and said it confirmed Laing O’Rourke as a trusted delivery partner in the oil and gas sector.

“This is the third major package we have secured on this Project. In 2012 Laing O’Rourke was awarded the EPC contract to deliver a network of four massive cryogenic tanks (in consortium with Kawasaki Heavy Industries) and the $260 million contract to deliver the 3,500 bed Manigurr-ma Village in Howard Springs,” Stuart said.

“The logistically challenging project will see the project delivery team working in and around a number of other contractors completing major work packages on the site, including Kawasaki Heavy Industries - Laing O’Rourke’s own Cryogenic Tanks team.

“Laing O’Rourke’s demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with a large number of stakeholders and our commitment to the use of Digital Engineering and innovative solutions to manage complex interfaces and deliver to the client’s program was instrumental in our success.”
