Darlington Upgrade Kicks Off

03.05.16

Gateway South, a joint venture between Laing O'Rourke and Fulton Hogan, has officially started work on South Australia's $620m Darlington Upgrade Project.

Federal Major Projects Minister Paul Fletcher and South Australian Transport and Infrastructure Minister Stephen Mullighan turned the first sod on the major infrastructure project earlier this week

The 3.3 kilometre upgrade will benefit commuters, business and the SA economy, delivering a non-stop roadway from the Southern Expressway to north of Tonsley Boulevard, bypassing five traffic light intersections while providing service road links for local traffic..

Laing O’Rourke Region Director Pat Cashin joined the Ministers on site for the event and said he was pleased to see work ramping up on this important project.

“Laing O’Rourke has a long and proud history of delivering major projects in South Australia and we are extremely pleased to be playing a major role on another piece of the State’s critical infrastructure,” Mr Cashin said.
