Laing O’Rourke delivers first phase of Oxford North’s innovation district
07.10.25Oxford North’s transformation into a hub for science and innovation has taken a major step forward with the delivery of Phase 1A by Laing O’Rourke.
The landmark Red Hall and two workspace buildings will be the foundation of a new innovation ecosystem.
The first phase of the project delivered 158,500 sq ft of precision constructed workspace complete with modern amenities and surrounded by the new district’s community and cultural centre.
The delivery of this project and the 13 local apprentices Laing O’Rourke employed to work on it further solidifies the company’s enduring relationship with Oxford.
Laing O’Rourke has delivered another landmark innovation project with The Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for Humanities at Oxford University opening to the public this week and is working to deliver the Ellison Institute at the Oxford Science Park.
Managing Director of the Europe Hub Peter Lyons said:
“Our team have delivered the first part of this innovation ecosystem, the continued evolution of Oxford and the delivery of facilities for world-changing science and research is central to Laing O’Rourke’s purpose of pushing the boundaries of what is possible in service of humanity.”
