Driving Digital Excellence: GIS and Framework Agreement
24.11.25Laing O’Rourke is pleased to announce the execution of a framework agreement with Australian Spatial Analytics (ASA).
We believe technology should do more than deliver projects - it should create opportunities and change lives. That’s why we’re proud to partner with ASA, a pioneering not-for-profit that provides meaningful careers for young neurodivergent adults while delivering world-class geospatial and digital engineering services. Founded in 2020, ASA employs over 220 neurodivergent individuals, 80% of whom are autistic, championing data sovereignty and ethical practices every step of the way.
Geoff Smith, ASA’s CEO said “This framework agreement with Laing O’Rourke proves that diversity fuels innovation. ASA empowers neurodivergent talent to deliver exceptional geospatial and digital engineering solutions, creating careers that matter while shaping a more inclusive, resilient future for Australia’s infrastructure sector. We’re very grateful to Laing O’Rourke for helping us create social impact from their supply chain, as this provides on-the-job training for many of our data analysts with real-world projects.”
Laing O’Rourke’s Geographic Information System (GIS) capability is a cornerstone of our offering. It provides our projects with accurate, real-time spatial data and integrated workflows that reduce uncertainty, improve planning, and enable informed decisions - delivering greater confidence in project outcomes.
This highly specialised team integrates geospatial intelligence into design, planning, and operational workflows, ensuring spatial data aligns seamlessly with our digital systems. They provide real-time mapping, automation, and centimetre-level GPS accuracy - reducing survey costs and improving efficiency. Interactive dashboards and web maps enhance collaboration and decision-making, while automation streamlines data processing.
Laura Murphy, GIS Principal at Laing O’Rourke, said “This collaboration reflects our commitment to innovation, inclusion, and excellence. It strengthens our team, aligns with our digital delivery strategy, and contributes to a socially responsible supply chain. Together, we’re not just meeting project deliverables - we’re shaping a future where technology and social impact go hand in hand.”
