In the UK, our place on two government frameworks allows us to engage with the Department for Education, local authorities and teachers to design and build high quality schools that will serve generations of children. We deploy our knowledge of modern methods of construction to build better and greener schools in less time.

Life sciences is currently a priority sector for the UK government, with a focus on constructing high quality facilities that enable British scientists to conduct world class research. Our projects within this sector have often been on compact sites, but our manufacturing led approach to delivery helps us overcome this challenge, minimise disruption to neighbours and the public, and stay on programme. A good example of this is the Henry Royce Institute in Manchester, which is situated on a busy, city centre university campus.

In Australia, Laing O’Rourke has become a trusted partner to a number leading academic institutions most recently delivering the Susan Wakil Health Building for the University of Sydney – a world-class purpose built facility that is training Australia’s future health workforce.

Clare is our Education, Science and Research specialist, who has worked in property and construction for more than 25 years. She has worked in roles that span the entire development process, from concept feasibility stage through to operation in use. Working across asset sectors with both private and public partners and clients, she has a strong track record of facilitating and structuring property transactions as well as extensive project delivery experience.
