Located within Sydney's technology hub at North Ryde, this project for Goodman International was designed to achieve a 4.5 NABERS rating for its energy saving and sustainability credentials. With its proximity to major arterial roads and an on-site childcare, gymnasium and a cafe, the Pinnacle Office Park has set new benchmarks in concept and design.

As the design and construction contractor, Laing O'Rourke developed two commercial towers for the Pinnacle complex. The early works package was awarded to Laing O'Rourke subsidiary Expanded, which provides specialist civil services to the building and infrastructure market. By keeping this critical element in-house, Laing O'Rourke was able to reduce risks, set the tone for the overall project and add value to the engineering aspect. 

The Pinnacle development was the single largest building contract entered into by Goodman International, and Laing O'Rourke worked collaboratively with the client to provide benefits and add value wherever possible. High standards of construction were imperative, allowing the building to a achieve Grade A status as a commercial building. 

The construction used reinforced post-tensioned concrete frames and a curtain wall facade, comprising approximately 31,000 m2 of net lettable area and 580 car parking spaces. During the construction, Laing O'Rourke was also engaged to deliver a $20 million integrated fit-out in Tower A for the headquarters of gaming solutions provider Aristocrat Technologies. 

Through efficient procurement techniques and the overlapping of project preliminaries, Laing O'Rourke delivered a high-grade fit-out of eight storeys to accommodate around 700 new staff. This fit-out also included implementing a dedicated tenant generator, air-conditioning plant and high-level security interface to meet Aristocrat's need for building resilience. 

Delivered on time and within budget in 2009, the project received a Certificate of High Commendation (Commercial Construction $50–100m) at the Australian Institute of Building’s Professional Excellence in Building Awards. It was also shortlisted for the 2011 Property Council of Australia Innovation Awards.
