Laing O'Rourke signs up for NorthLink WA Central Section
Laing O'Rourke will
join forces with BGC Contracting to deliver a major part of Western Australia’s NorthLink WA roads program.
Minister for Transport Dean Nalder confirmed today that Great Northern Connect, a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and
BGC Contracting, is the preferred contractor for NorthLink WA central section.
The project comprises
the first section of the Perth Darwin National Highway and aims to reduce congestion on the local road network including
Great Northern Highway.
The finished Perth National Highway will provide the northern link into Perth for heavy freight
traffic and create direct access for growing suburban developments such as
Great Northern Connect will oversee the design and construction of
nearly 20km of highway, four interchanges including 14 road bridges and three

on our growing portfolio of national road infrastructure projects – with work
for state roads clients already underway in Victoria, South Australia and
northern NSW where we are delivering the nation’s largest regional public
infrastructure investment, the final 155km link of the upgraded Pacific
Construction work on Northlink WA central section is expected to
begin early next year.
