Crown House Technologies wins LD6 Data Centre
Crown House Technologies (CHt) has extended its relationship with US data centre giant Equinix with the signing of a contract for its newest colocation facility in the Berkshire ‘tech’ corridor.
The latest project will be for a new building in Slough, close to the client’s two existing data centres in the town, comprising two data hall blocks providing over 24,000m2 of floor area.
The 55 week construction programme has already commenced, being delivered as ‘one team’ by CHt, Select, Expanded and Laing O’Rourke Construction South.
Russell Poole, managing director, Equinix UK said “LD6 is a hugely exciting project; the facility will be the most advanced data center in the UK. We are committed to providing not just continuity but also continuous improvement for our current and future customers; this latest addition to our thriving campus will also set new standards in efficiency and sustainability."
Zak Carroll, CHt Project Leader commented “We’ve forged a strong relationship over several years with Equinix, and following the successful and safe delivery of LD5, we’re delighted that the team’s passion and dedication has been rewarded by being named as the successful bidder.”
Mike Lewis, Crown House Technologies Business Unit Leader said “The win demonstrates the trust and understanding that we have developed with this client. We’ve exchanged team members with Equinix on several occasions in the past, helping to clarify mutual drivers and requirements. Through this partnership, we have identified the best way forward for both sides, and I look forward to building on this success for the future”.
