Applications open for new Cadet Programme
As part of our strategy to attract, develop and retain the best talent, Laing O’Rourke has launched a new entry level programme for school leavers completing day release degree courses.
The five-year Cadet Programme gives young people the opportunity to combine further education with structured on-the-job learning. It is the latest in a suite of development programmes designed to challenge and change the image of construction by making it the industry of choice for the brightest and most ambitious professionals.
We are now seeking candidates for the 2010 intake. Applications close on 31 March 2010.
As a Laing O’Rourke cadet, you will gain a unique insight into the business, our clients and the sectors in which we operate.
You will acquire broad-ranging experience though an engaging series of work placements, accredited workshops, assignments and mentoring from experienced leaders.
This development programme is designed to stretch and support you in becoming qualified in your chosen discipline at the end of the five years.
You will be introduced to key areas of the business such as the application of our design for manufacture and assembly strategy. You will also gain a first-hand understanding of our vision and values through the integration of health and safety within the programme.
"As a former trainee myself, I am dedicated to developing a programme that will maximise the potential of young talent within Laing O’Rourke."
Andrew Jackson, Business Unit Leader Construction North
